Sweet & Salty

It's been a fairly slow week... mostly just classes and work.
Yesterday, I came home from class to find my brother's van in the driveway, my mother's car not in the garage, and both of them home. I ask what is going on and my mother tells me she was in an accident. She is fine, mostly a bruised shoulder and ego, but the car is otherwise. I guess she pretty much totaled it. She had hit a patch of ice, over compensated, and lost control. She ended up slamming into a fire hydrant in a ditch. So, that was my eventful welcome home yesterday.
Today, I ended up sleeping through my alarm and missing my first class.. the best part, my professor for that class is doing a joint class with my other professor/class that is immediately following. So, I got to see him and talk it over. But in my advertising class we are teaming up with an advanced digital media class and we are actually creating ads and such. It is so cool! Our first project involves us taking a snack food and creating a new ad campaign for it. So, I was partnered up with someone, but that someone wasn't in class... so another person didn't have their partner either, so the professors asked us to brainstorm together so we could get ideas for our separate groups. Well, one thing led to another and we came up with some great ideas for a few different Nature Valley products. So, seeing as we worked well together, and already had some plans, we asked if we could work together... and now we're partners! We started off with the general bars, going with an Adam and Eve, branches and twigs feel. But, as we looked at the products NV offers, we changed our minds. So, now we're going to be working on a campaign for Nature Valley's Sweet & Salty Nut bars.. Sorry, you're not going to get more than that for now. Once the project is finished, maybe I'll post it. This is going to be so cool.
I really am enjoying my digital media class because I'm learning how to do new things like designing my own workspace - a project to create a workspace of the future... so I get to make my pages look like a Mac... SO COOL!!! And I'm getting to use Photoshop more and learning some cool new things about that too..
Tonight I'm going to a show at a local high school... tomorrow I'll write love on my arm and work a hockey game... Saturday I get to work at Borders... woo hoo... Questions, comments, you know the drill!
