The end...

of a great run. Saturday evening is the last performance of the show I have been working on for the past 3 or 4 weeks now and oh boy what a run! All sorts of ups and downs, hurt feelings and hurt body parts. But all in all it was a great run. I truly clicked with all of the cast members, and it helped even more that they were all about the same age as I am. All 4 of them are fantastic and I truly had a blast working with them. The most amusing part was the crossed hands circle they did every night to psych up. At the end of their personal pep talks to the group they would pick a line from the show and proceed to almost (and sometimes they did) scream it. A different line every night, and oh boy was it interesting some of the lines they chose. I actually had the honor of 2 of them being lines I chose. YAY... But we all got along really well and I hope I get the chance to work with them again. They all amazed me in different ways and helped me really see how much dedication and perseverance mean, especially when the group is faced with some of the problems we encountered. I love them all, and yes, I am saying that I love 3 people that went/go to NU. GET OVER IT! They rock, and if you have a problem with that I will beat you! lol
Still debating if I should direct a staged reading at the Theatre in March... but I'm thinking I just might do it. Get some real, professional experience with directing. Especially seeing as they are willing to let me do it, that means A LOT. I've only been a part of the Theatre for 2 seasons in March, and only 1 and a half of that is actually a paid position and all in the Stage Management end. So I'd like to see what I can do with directing, see if it works out... who knows!!
Classes are going well. Finished my first Jane Austen novel - well it was the one I've read multiple times so it wasn't so bad; 1 down, 5 to go. DMA is easier than I thought it would be, but I'm getting a lot out of the Photoshop part, and I know I'll get a lot more from the other programs too. All sorts of happy about that! Both PR and Ad writing have continuing projects we're working on that are both sort of cool in their own way. Broadcasting is a really interesting class and I'm getting a lot from it. And Theatre Experience of course is fabulous!! Met a well known local critic and he recognized me as being an SM... it was GREAT!!! Who would have thought that a critic would recognize the person changing the set or working the lights?! So that made my day...
Hmmm, can't think of much else. Any questions, you know the drill. OH and I also changed the chat board. I think this one is actually going to work so feel free to chat!! Toodles!!!
